February Technology Directions Agenda

Welcome back, happy New Year! Below is the agenda for the February Technology Directions Seminar Series. Feb is a shorter morning seminar series; we hope you can join us. We will be talking mobile GIS as a lot of you who attended our October Series told us you wanted more… we will show you more about ArcGIS 10 and the productivity improvements it delivers and much more. Make sure you register early, as with October places are filling fast (and we will have to close registrations shortly) so make sure you register early.  Register for your directions now….

Field force management – GIS out in the field.At our October Technology Directions Seminar Series you told us that mobile was a hot topic. As GIS becomes more and more a critical part of our organisations, it is only a matter of time before you need to know how to take it out into the field. In this presentation we give you some more information on what is out there and show you some pretty cool apps which are helping to pave the way in mobile.

9.30 am – 10.00 am 
Part 1 of 2 – we take a look at how there are some important things happening in the 3D and data interoperability space.   So you have collected your data in the field, now you need to take it back to the desktop and perform some serious analysis to support your organisation.Organisations are increasingly looking to leverage 3D models for infrastructure management, planning and environmental impacts and so on, this includes being able to take data out of systems like a CAD system and making the data available in a GIS system. ArcGIS 10 is a system which gives us some real and tangible productivity gains in this space, helping you to do more things, in less time.

Part 2 of 2 – Faster, faster, faster. Continuing on from Part 1 we take a closer look at what is new in ArcGIS 10 help you do more, faster.

Extending the reach of GIS – Dekho 3.1 – You are collecting data in the field, performing some great analysis at the desktop level, now you need to make that information available to your organisation, it is important. Using Dekho 3.1 you can extend the reach of GIS through geographic web applications. Tailored web applications which leverage your GIS analysis to support organisational wide workflows. Take a look at the new user interface improvements, the inclusion of MDS Foundation Maps and much more.From the field – to the desktop – to the enterprise.
