We’d like to extend a big congratulations to one of our South Australian clients, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – their Fire Management Team were awarded a top gong in the South Australia Spatial Excellence Awards earlier this month.
The team took out the ‘Spatially Enabling Government’ category with their interactive online mapping application, Fire Management Maps, which supports DENR’s fire management planning.
The awards were announced as part of the Spatial Information Day Conference held in Adelaide earlier this month, which provides individuals and organisations with the opportunity to view innovative spatial technologies and projects through presentations and displays.
Esri Australia’s South Australia Manager, David Trengove, was on hand in his role as the SA Chair of SIBA, to present the award.
Fire Management Maps, a solution developed with Esri Australia, supports public consultation for Fire Management Plans and provides the public with information about fire management, including prescribed burning on SA Government land. Its interactive features give users access to a number of tools to discover more information about fire history, vegetation communities, tenure and infrastructure in DENR reserves and much more!
