Ozri 2011 is now in full swing with some very enlightening presentations being delivered this afternoon!
We have just heard from Miles de Costa from the Department of Human Services (VIC) and Clare Brazenor from the Department of Health (VIC) who have illustrated the integral role their latest GIS enterprise wide solution plays in servicing their many, varied business units. The solution was configured for technical and non-technical users encouraging a greater up-take of GIS advocates… It’s very exciting to see the Health sector embracing the benefits of using GIS technology!
Up next was a great presentation from Dmitar Butrovski who is a Solutions Architect from Geoscience Australia. Dmitar spoke about the National Topographic Information Coordination Initiative (NTICI)… an exciting collaborative initiative from The National Geographic Information (NGI) Group of Geoscience Australia (GA) and State/Territory mapping agencies. This presentation highlighted some of the key activities and the expected capabilities to be delivered in the not-to-distant future… it defintely sounds like this mapping programme is taking Esri technology to the next level and beyond.
