Ozri Update: Stream E Session Snapshot

Ozri 2012 Update

Darren Smith from the Bureau of Meteorology gave us a peek into the Bureau’s Geofabric toolbox in his highly informative presentation.  Darren explain the role of the Geofabric – a specialised GIS that registers the spatial relationships between important hydrologic features such as rivers, water bodies and catchments – and the toolbox of ArcGIS Python script tools to help utilise and extend the Geofabric datasets.  Some of the tools showcased included the creation of monitoring point features that are automatically related to Geofabric stream features; the creation of custom catchments; and Pfafstetter catchment tracing.
