Around this time of year, many of our users are working on their budgets for the upcoming financial year.
I thought I’d share with you what many people do – which is budget now for their attendance at Ozri – Esri Australia’s annual user conference.
Planning ahead makes sure that you don’t miss out on any learning opportunities or key events – such as Ozri – that will assist in your professional development – and maximise your organisation’s GIS investment. With GIS technology – and its scope for application – changing at such a rapid pace, keeping up to date with the latest developments is a must for any geospatial professional.
With a theme of ‘A Spatial Odyssey’, Ozri will be held in Brisbane this year on 4-6 September. As Australasia’s largest GIS conference, Ozri provides a unique opportunity to learn, collaborate and be inspired by innovative applications of GIS. It’s an event that I’m sure anyone who has attended before will agree is unlike any other spatial conference.
Apart from having a chance to hear from local and international specialists (including industry experts and technology developers), Ozri also provides the opportunity to meet other users from around the country to share your experiences and knowledge – and form valuable collaborative relationships.
99% of people who attended Ozri last year rated the presentation content as relevant and useful – content that can be immediately leveraged back at the office to make sure your organisation is getting the most from their GIS investment.
To give you an idea of how much to budget, a full registration last year cost $1,300, with an early bird registration costing $1,090 (both inclusive of GST). Costings for this year haven’t been confirmed as yet, but this should provide you with a ball park figure for budgeting. Group discounts will also be available this year if you register more than four people from your organisation at the same time.
We hope to see you in Brisbane for Ozri.
