We are excited to announce two new Esri Australia Training Courses: ArcGIS Online Subscriptions for Organisations: Publisher Workflows and ArcGIS Online Subscriptions for Organisations: User Workflows. These one day courses represent the first tailored ArcGIS Online training offerings from Esri Australia. As many of you will know, ArcGIS Desktop Users on maintenance are eligible for a free ArcGIS Online account.
At Directions 2014, we learnt that only about 20 percent of Esri users in Australia have activated their free account. With this in mind, these new training courses provide Australian users with an opportunity to kick start their ArcGIS Online account and pick up some useful tips, resources and best practice guidelines along the way.
An exciting part of these new ArcGIS Online training offerings are the ‘Tools, Templates and Technology’ modules where experienced Esri Australia Trainers will demonstrate the latest ArcGIS Online functionality before students get hands-on experience leveraging ArcGIS Online across the entire ArcGIS Platform.
If you are new to ArcGIS Online or an experienced user wanting to gain some new knowledge of the latest functionality such as the highly anticipated disconnected editing workflow using the Collector App, be sure to read on…

Am I ready to attend these courses?
This course has been designed for anyone who needs to publish GIS content to ArcGIS Online and is aimed at GIS analysts, data curators and other knowledge workers within your organisation.
This course has been developed for knowledge workers, managers and other professionals within your organisation who will benefit from using content shared to your ArcGIS Online account to view via a browser, smartphone or tablet device.
Should I attend both courses?
While the courses are being offered as two separate one-day engagements, they have been designed by the Esri Australia Training team to complement and build upon one another. For example, a GIS analyst can attend the Publisher Workflows course on day one to configure and publish content, as well as attend the User Workflows course on day two to gain additional understanding of how users might consume the content created on day one with a browser, smart device or Microsoft Excel, a familiar interface for non-GIS professionals.
By attending both courses learners will be well placed to publish, share and use maps, apps and services leveraging the power of ArcGIS Online across their organisations platform.
What do I need to bring on the day?
Both of the ArcGIS Online Training Courses are offered as scheduled courses at one of the Cliftons training facilities found throughout Australia. While you won’t need to bring anything to the facility, we highly recommend you come along with your smartphone or tablet device in order to familiarise yourself with the freely available mobile applications provided by Esri that utilise your organisation’s ArcGIS Online account.
When is the next ArcGIS Online Training Course in my area?
We currently have the Publisher Workflows and User Workflows coming up in Perth (13-14th May), Melbourne (15-16th May), Sydney (5-6th June) and Brisbane (19-20th June). Spots are filling up fast though so if you’re interested, ensure you register online as soon as possible.
